Reflexology

Reflexology is pressure applied to reflex points on feet or hands. Reflexes correspond to organs, glands and systems. Stimulating these points helps to unblock pathways encouraging healing and allowing all the body's systems to work in harmony.
.
Pre conception to baby
Pre conception and non-physical causes of infertility - reflexology encourages deep relaxation relieving stress and tension. Stimulating reproductive reflex points promotes normal glandular function aiding conception.
Pregnancy - back pain, indigestion, constipation, fluid retention, tiredness, headaches, high/low blood pressure, leg cramps, nausea and tender breasts are common issues during pregnancy, reflexology can help relieve symptoms through non-invasive, gentle treatments. At the same time, Baby benefits from receiving a good supply of oxygen and nutrients through optimum blood circulation.
Labour - pain and discomfort can be eased by short but regular reflexology treatments leading up to the birth.
Post natal - massaging baby's feet is a natural way of bonding, gentle reflexology can help relieve colic, skin irritations and the pain of teething. For Mum, reflexology will help improve muscle tone, balance hormones, aid relaxation and maintain energy levels.
Children 4-15 years

Midlife
As we enter the middle years of our lives, we face many different situations, work pressure, redundancy, parenting, the breakdown of a relationship, any one of these can lead to stress. At times, experiencing a short term, stressful situation can be rewarding and fulfilling, however, being constantly stressed will affect how we function and can lead to digestive, respiratory, or muscular problems for example. Reflexology has been found to be very beneficial in helping to reduce stress and stress related illnesses eg irritable bowel syndrome, migraine, neck and shoulder pain.
During a treatment of just over an hour, Reflexology encourages deep relaxation and gives a sense of wellbeing. All systems of the body are worked on. Stimulating the circulatory system boosts the blood supply to the brain and can help with memory function, thinking and reasoning. The immune system may strengthen, helping to fight infections and a balanced endocrine system is essential for our emotions, moods, energy, sleep patterns and to lessen the effects of menopausal symptoms like night sweats and hot flushes.
Later Life
In later life we experience wear and tear of our systems and organs eg. digestive, heart, lungs, stomach, bowel, muscles bones/joints, bladder. All systems, organs and glands have reflex points in the feet and all areas will be stimulated in a treatment to restore a natural balance. For example reflexology has been found to increase blood and lymph circulation, to the brain this will aid memory retention and recall; and in the legs and feet will help to nourish tissue and reduce fluid retention. The immune system may strengthen, helping to fight infections and a balanced endocrine system is essential for our emotions, moods, energy, sleep patterns.
Keeping active and healthy in later years will help to maintain independence and social interaction and help to avoid social isolation. Reflexology has also been effective for people suffering from depression brought on for example by social isolation or bereavement.
During a treatment, Reflexology encourages deep relaxation and gives a sense of wellbeing and all you have to take off are your shoes and socks!
